Grey Mist Isles
The eastern coast of Grey Mist Isles are comparatively regular and have few deep indentations; the western coast is fringed by steep cliffs and hundreds of tiny islands torn from the main mass by the powerful forces of the Casidhde Ocean. Each of the islands are arranged along a low mountain range, which creates a narrow band of steep mountains and wide lowlands. Most important is Daethoasel (3811 ft above sea level), located in the southwestern section of the island range and is the highest point in the Grey Mist Isles.
The main island is named Ethodar’aza, directly south of that is Viloro, so named after the claw-like shape that it represents. The caldera that created the curve of Viloro is named Ru’Ilual, or Holy Mist. This collapsed but active volcano is responsible for keeping the ocean water overly warm, forming excess evaporation, and thereby generating the shroud of mist that enwraps the islands.
The Mist Elves of the Grey Mist Isles have lived out their existence on Rosha in relative peace and harmony. Typical of most elven kingdoms, change happens very slowly, and as such the elven people are sometimes seen as aloof and rigid. But the Mist Elves are genuinely kind and accepting of other races, and as such have had a few rolls in history.
The Mist Elves found their place on the world before the creation of the Mystical Storm, some 3500 years ago. Fond of islands, they quickly inhabited the lush and secluded islands of the Casidhde Ocean and Fanchon Sea. Finding themselves in a new land, leadership went to the eldest of the race, an ancient elf by the name of Uth’ulamedre. Wise in many ways, he founded the government, helped with the creation of a city, and guided the Mist Elves into their new home. Once settled, they encountered other races that were new to the planet, some were kind and worthy of friendship and others were not so.
Lord and Lady Seoghas of the Ferns rule the Grey Mist Isles.
