Fayre Isle and the Palace d’Emeraude
A beautiful yet mysterious island, the Fayre Isle is nestled between the protective embrace of the Sea of the Serpent and the unyielding grasp of the coast of Haven. About ten miles north of Haven, it’s an important island geographically. The natural beauty of the island has endeared it to the heart of any that visit its lush land. For these reasons, the island has been chosen to be the ‘emissary’ of Haven, to house the Palace d’Emeraulde, and to serve as a luxurious sanctuary to honored guests and dear friends of the royal family.
Wildlife on the isle is more reminiscent of tropical life rather than frigid Proudglaive that is to the north. Exotic lush plants and bright mysterious animals have made the land their home. Sweet fruits are plentiful, as are numerous herbs and mushrooms, many unique to the island. The hundreds of birds that nest within the dense forest almost seem to be in a never-ending battle to outshine the bright colors of the flowers. When the season is right, the air is full of darting rainbows, each splash of color granted to a different bird or flower. But danger lives within the lush forests as well, for not every creature or plant is kind. A traveler should travel with a guide, for the most harmless of things could really be poisonous or worse: carnivorous.
On the east side of the island is the recently finished Palace d’Emeraude. This stunning structure is the palace of the Lord and Lady of Haven. It has been built on a cliff, with the Eildre River below.
