Pashen watched Shaidar start to turn away, a smile played
about her mouth. Dressed in black leather, she twirled a
colorful flower in her fingers. Her quietly laughter caused
Shaidar to pause. He turned to face her, Pashen slid off
the low wall in the arena, the flower transformed into her
sword. Shaidar grunted as he looked her over slowly.
Pashen fought skillfully, focused, and danced easily away
from his sword. He kicked out at her enraged at his
inability to strike her, his bladed boot caught her in the
stomach.

She eventually brought the shadowspawn to the
ground, taking no further damage from him, her powers
greater since her return. As he lost consciousness, Pashen
plunged Fyre into his chest, growling out, “Die you foul
creature..” She quickly withdrew her sword and dropped to
her knees beside him. Her fingers tangled in his hair and
jerked his head back, arching his white neck. Smiling
grimly, Pashen murmured, “I’ve waited a long time to do
this..” With Fyre now in the form of a wicked, serrated
knife, she slashed twice across his exposed neck and
brought the life of Shaidar to an end.

She stood slowly, red-rimmed black eyes flashed golden and a flask of oil appeared in her hand, quickly she doused his body, called forth a flame and set the wretched creature on fire. His
flaming form started to fade and she knew that one day
Shaidar Haran would return……and she’d be ready to kill him
all over again.

As Pashen lay curled next to Vorador, she traced a
fingertip along the outline of his tattoo and thought of
all they had endured as a couple. Obstacles that would have
torn many relationships apart had strengthened theirs. Last
night her beloved had given her a gift beyond measure, one
she would cherish for the rest of her days. It meant more
than a ring or a title ever could, her violet eyes glowed
softly in the darkness, she whispers, “I love you,
beloved..”
