Where the city straddles the Mistroil Flow, 4 bridges cross from East to West. The Southern most bridge, or the “Garden Bridge” is the focus of outdoor activity in the Auvrynon’s capital city. With over 15 acres of land, the Gateway Park provides visitors and residents, the young and young-at-heart, a beautiful view of the City of Gates.

The park is divided into several areas of interest:

The City Park is an area of lush landscape that winds along the western banks of the Mistroil. Trails for walking meander along the grasses and hedges and close to the bank of the river. The trails are full of both shade and sun and offer plenty of space for families to picnic and enjoy the weather. Some visitors choose to dip in a fishhook or even swim within the clear cool water of the river.

The Magic Garden is a dense wooded stretch of land that features six private sanctuaries that offer rest and revitalization. Each haven has a theme represented by its flora – bromeliads for health, roses for romance, iris for beauty, carnations for happiness, marigold for wealth and orchids for wisdom. Benches and statuary fitting the theme add space for those seeking refuge or romance. At night, these gardens come alive with lights from faerie and firefly. The faekin can be playful and often seek only attention from the travelers within.

The Meditation Garden is on the eastern bank of the Mistroil Flow. A large gateway designates where visitors can enter a world of reflection and enchantment. Serpentine paths pass sculpted ponds that join one another along narrow streams and tranquil waterfalls. Thousands of exotic Imperial Koi beseech the attention of viewers; some will accept a gentle caress in exchange for a few bites of food. Treasures await the adventurous around every turn. Within the lush, dense foliage can be found sculptures and crystals, fire pits and wind chimes. Even a moon observatory* is secreted away as a serene retreat. Stone, earth, leaf, and water become one in this land of wonder.
* Moon observatory is a hemispherical stone hill about 30 feet in diameter and 7 feet tall at the apex. Moon paths are carved into the hill, creating a cross work of colorful lines and circles to represent the cycles. One can lie upon the hill and gaze up at the sky.
