Ravnglade, Hawkwood Inn

Welcome to the Hawkwood Inn and Tavern
The Hawkwood Inn and Tavern is located at the northern end of the marketplace, close to Ravn Harbor. It is the best known of the numerous inns of Ravnglade. This elaborately decorated Inn provides all the comforts of a home away from home.

The three-story structure is rich in history, nearly as old as Ravnglade itself, the Inn has been standing for almost 200 years. This is not by accident, but rather by design, with all the brutal action that has taken place within its stone walls. Walls that have been destroyed by fights are quickly repaired by the following morning, although workers have never been spotted or heard. This is a result of the strong magicks placed by the mysterious owner of the Inn, Elijah Achaz.

Elijah is rarely seen but his unique spells unerringly work within Hawkwood. He does not like fighting to interrupt his studies and will not hesitate to banish rowdy guests from his establishment.

The main doors open into the lobby; the registration desk is off to the left. Akin to the registration desk is a hallway leading to a variety of closed doors, most of which are probably offices.

Sounds from the well-stocked tavern draw your attention there. Barrels of all sorts of exotic and common liqueur are stacked behind a strong solid bar. Scents of strange meals dance out from behind a swinging door, which could only lead to a kitchen. At the back of the large room, a staircase leads upward, granting access to a variety of rooms, whose keys can be purchased for reasonable prices.

Your eyes are drawn across the large room to the massive stone fireplace which dominates the far wall; the blazing fire in it warms the whole Inn.

Over time, the hearth has gathered a variety of antlers/candles/knickknacks from unknown sources. These still decorate the oaken hearth to this day. It is rumored that thieves with sticky fingers are plagued with bad luck until they return the stolen item. Several soft chairs sit in front of the fire, creating a warm conversational area.

On the south wall, a dartboard rests on a pockmarked wall. The heavy oak tables scatter about the room each have a small candle on them, though most are unlit.

OOC notes

1. This is a fully staffed inn, the bar is never unattended hence no jumping over the counter to serve yourself.

2. No one may kill any of the NPC staff.

3. Fire-based spells are automatically hurled back at their casters, concentrated solely on them. Many offensive, destructive spells are directed back to the sender automatically.

4. Fighting in Hawkwood is frowned upon and accordingly those that do so, do it at their own risk. Should an RK, CK or other Admin person, including Elijah, whisper that you have been teleported out of Hawkwood to the Marketplace, please leave. To challenge this can cause all your characters to be banished permanently from Hawkwood.

5. To cut down on confusion of players entering the inn, if your character goes to a paid for room of Hawkwood, remove yourself to a private room.

6. Similarly, if you are outside of Hawkwood you are considered in the Marketplace, please role play there. Posting about entering and leaving the inn is fine.

7. Elijah is in charge of hiring staff at Hawkwood. Inquiries about use for large functions or working at the inn should be directed to him.
