The Library of Ravn

As you approach the Library you pass through two even rows of columns. The gods of knowledge regard you silently from their posts beside the immense double doors Ogma on the left a tanned handsome man wearing bright clothing and ornamental armor on the right stands regal dark-haired Mystra draped in fine robes which are decorated only with a jeweled bodice clasp that resembles a spider’s web.

Tiny dust motes float through the perfectly still air as you step over the threshold into the main room of the Library. To your immediate right is a check-out desk where an attendant stands ready to help. The ceiling stretches infinitely upward and makes your eyes ache to seek its limits. Clouds of mist seem to shroud the upper heights and you realize it’s a much larger building than it appears from the exterior. High round windows let beams of light into the Library to illuminate stray shelves and volumes.

The walls are lined with shelves upon shelves of books. Ladders are propped against them here and there. Partway up there is a balcony accessible by stairways to either side of the entrance. In the center of the room are freestanding bookshelves as well as reading tables and comfortable chairs. At the very back of the Library is a shady space where magical or enchanted books are kept they are chained to the shelves but do sometimes rattle or squeak of their own accord.
