Bijoux Description

Upon one of the hilltops south of the City of Gates, tall crystal spires of this elaborate banquet hall can be seen jetting up from a canopy of lush conifer trees. The mansion’s beauty is unquestionable, with tall windows of faceted glass-steel that are strong enough to withstand even the fiercest of hurricanes that can cross the Zephyr Bay. Inside, the sunshine is refracted into dozens of colors and warms the bright stones and golden filigree. Even so, the hall always has a hauntingly empty air when parties aren’t in full swing.

At the top of wide, gold-fleck white granite steps the nine foot tall double doors of the Bijoux are open when the facilities are in use.

Stepping into the grand lobby, there is a podium to the immediate left where the reservation book is tended to by either party hosts or a masked representative of the Bijoux.

The lobby homes a coat and hat check manned by a masked servant where outerwear and weapons may be safely stowed.

Past the entrance, many comfortable chairs and settees arranged for casual conversation.

Additional warmth can be found around the sunken fireplace. Magical flames slowly sift through hundreds of colors in a continuous display all year long while giving off a cozy heat when the weather grows chilly.

Down the left side of the building runs a long hall with restrooms and the smoking lounge/cash bar for those that wish for stronger drink.

While the lobby and entry are lovely, most are here to attend an event at the breathtaking ballroom. Past the conversation chairs is a wide set of stairs that descend to the ballroom. A balcony runs along the left, leaving the far right side open for the thirty foot tall glass-steel windows open to a spectacular view of the City of Gates and the Zephyr Bay.

The floor of the main ballroom is cream colored marble. In the center of the floor is a wide silver circle, with the words “A’trel ma no hel’sai” written along the curve. The meaning of these words has been lost to time.

On the ballroom level there are two sets of double doors. One leads to the kitchen area and only staff are allowed to enter. The other leads out to the balcony. With the Bijoux built on the top of a hill, the spectacular balcony view is a favorite spot for romantics and scholars.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

New Resident Ball
On the night of the New Resident Ball the doors of the Bijoux are opened wide to welcome those with invitations. Just inside stands at least one representative from Auvrynon’s Welcoming Committee waiting to take invitations. No one sneaks by the front doors without notice.

Within the ballroom, a quartet plays soft music until the dance commences. Waltzes bring lords and ladies together.

Masked servants, pretty women and handsome men, circulate with trays carrying complimentary drinks and snacks. Stronger drinks may be purchased at the fully stocked bar and lounge located down the hall from the lobby.
